fMRI & Analysis Workshop - Fall 2004

Sponsored by the Center for Functional Neuroimaging, this mini-workshop is designed to introduce the attendee to the principles of fMRI experimental design and data analysis. While some time will be spent with a specific software package (i.e., VoxBo), the emphasis will be overwhelmingly upon underlying concepts--the goal is to understand what goes on under the hood, not how to press buttons. The first day will consider basic principles of hypothesis testing, the characteristics of fMRI data, and the rudiments of the general linear model. The second day will compare and contrast different experimental designs (e.g., blocked vs. event related), and the final day will provide an overview of data preparation and analysis from scan to SPM map.
